Process controls and calibration

Instrument calibration for temperature, pressure, flow and level, plus instrument installation, tubing and control system work.

A technician in a hard hat stands at the burner control panels of a large gas-fired unit on a new concrete pad

DuCom calibrates instruments for temperature, pressure, flow and level. DuCom is certified, and all of our calibration instruments are NIST traceable.

Installation and tubing

We also install the instruments themselves, along with the impulse tubing and the pneumatic supply tubing to control valves, so the field side of a control loop comes from one contractor.

Controls work

  • PLC and HMI systems
  • Process instrumentation and field devices
  • Control panel design and integration
  • Controls troubleshooting
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Control system upgrades and changes

From the field instrument to the control panel and the operator screen, we look at how each part works within the process. That helps us design practical controls and find faults quickly.

On the job

Our work

  • A DuCom technician in a hard hat and hi-vis jacket works inside an open control enclosure among valves and meters
  • A gloved hand works on terminal blocks and wiring inside a control panel

Questions

Common questions

All questions

What instruments do you calibrate?

We calibrate instruments for temperature, pressure, flow and level, and our calibration instruments are NIST traceable. We also install instruments, impulse tubing and the pneumatic supply tubing to control valves.

How do you test new electrical work before start-up?

Every conductor from 120 to 15,000 volts is megger tested after installation, and conductors over 600 volts are hi-pot tested before they are energized. Loop checks and simulations follow, so start-up holds no surprises.
